Showing everyone the methods I use when cleaning old dirty speakers. Specifically, we deal with cleaning of the cones. Paper, Metal, Kevlar, Cloth, Wood or Composite is handled. We do this when trying to save an old pair of speakers from the junkyard.
Performing the repairs may damage your speakers. Please perform at your own risk.
Consult Manufacturers Recommendations, First.
Please perform these repairs minimally and only when you need to restore the speakers.

For Paper Cones, minimum water is best. But if the cone is untreated, it will probably start falling apart with age and will need to be re-coned. We do not suggest cleaning untreated paper cones.
For Metal Cones, please be careful. These speakers are easy to bend up.
