Suspended from Reddit for 3 days

Reddit Sucks

I posted /r/Funny a video that, I thought, was funny. I got a notice an hour later, I was banned from /r/Funny permanently for “Self Promotion.” Not a big deal, except, please note, /r/Funny is one of Reddits most popular Reddits.

I actually try to follow the rules, so I asked for more information about why I was banned, and questioned if the rules were clear enough. In response, I got a nasty reply and then “muted” by the mod. The next day, I got a notice I was banned from Reddit for 3 days for “harassment.”

I don’t care that much, as Reddit is toxic as it gets. However, is this how Reddit promotes their mods talking to the people? Can a basic degree of politeness be allowed? Why ban someone for being concerned about the rules? And is this “Harassment”? I doubt it.

I must say, Reddit sucks. Everywhere you go on Reddit, people are nasty to each other. I try my best to be polite to people, and not be part of the problem. But this is a systematic issue that starts with their self-defensive admins, and ends at the users and the mods. In the end, I hate my time on social media, and Reddit is not an exception.

I’m uninstalling the app, taking a break from social media, and will only go there for the Audiophile content. Very little else is worth it, especially if you can’t goto /r/Funny without encountering the same harassment.

Reddit, clean up your shit. It’s not acceptable to be an asshat to everyone in the world. Reading Reddit makes me question humanity. It’s not just the internet, it’s you. You’re the problem, Reddit.

I encourage all my readers to start their own blogs. When you use Facebook, Reddit, and the others, you are only promoting someone else’s content. You’re not promoting your own, and you’re just wasting your time.

You don’t need to ban people. You can just say, “Hey, please don’t post your own content”

Also your rules are lacking a “Self Promotion Rule”

Just saying, if I saw a rule, I wouldn’t of posted.
